On his way to campaign in Kagadi, President Yoweri Museveni stopped at the Nakayima Tourist Site in Mubende district.
In the company of his daughter, Natasha, Museveni toured the site and the surrounding hills.
The site derives it’s name from a sacred tree called Nakayima, which was named after a princess, Nakayima, who resided at this place.
She reportedly possessed powers to prevent and cure smallpox, helped barren women and treated general illnesses.
He donated Sh30 million towards the maintenance of the site which is under the Buganda Kingdom Ministry of Tourism and Heritage.
