President Kaguta Museveni on Tuesday traversed the areas of Muko and Bubale sub-counties in Rubanda district combing votes for NRM flagbearers Kenneth Biryabarema and Prossy Mbabazi, LC5 chairperson and Member of Parliament respectively.
During the rallies, His Excellency talked about a number of issues from infrastructure to health.
On infrastructure, the President was pleased to note that most of Rubanda district is now connected to the electricity grid “and those without will soon be connected.”
He added, “Government will also pave the road from Muko to Katuna so that tourists are able to move easily when they come to tour Bunyonyi, Bwindi, and other places.”
Museveni further added that even as we develop, it is important for people to pursue wealth at an individual level.
“Government is going to distribute 5 million tea seedlings. We shall give 850 homes this year. Also to be distributed are 50,000 apple seedlings and 51,000 of passion fruits.”
He continued, “Government is doing all this to chase poverty from homes.”
“Also because of iron ore deposits in Rubanda, government will work to establish a processing factory in Kigezi.”
On the health sector, the President pledged to construct a hospital to match Rubanda’s new district status.
“So when we ask for votes for our flagbearers, we want people who will work to achieve these targets.”
