Government will support the Nubian community to gain skills and set up income generating activities so that they kick poverty out of their homes, President Yoweri Museveni has said.
This was his promise to the community yesterday when he met them at State House, Entebbe.
The community’s leaders should also encourage their subjects to tap into the available wealth creation programmes, he added.
“I agree with their proposal that Bombo town council be elevated to a municipality to address the issues of Nubian marginalisation.”
Also, both Bombo primary and secondary schools will be rehabilitated and modernised to serve the community better.
The Nubian community revolving fund will also get Shs100 million from the government to mainly support women projects.
