Political activist has criticized government’s Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) and President Yoweri Museveni’s recent visit to Luweero district to monitor the project saying it is just wastage of public resources.
For the last eight days, President Museveni has been camping in Luweero District where he said he had gone to monitor the performance of OWC; a project coordinated by his brother Salim Saleh.
During one of his tours, president Museveni admitted that the project has not yielded the expected results with farmers complaining of poor quality seedlings distributed by the OWC personnel.
According to the former political intelligence desk chief at State House, president Museveni cannot have a military operation called ‘Operation Wealth Creation’.
“The system has collapsed and the whole country is on drip that is what Museveni is illustrating with drip irrigation. Some areas are drying up because forest reserves are being given away to those who are well connected,” said Rwomushana in reaction to a photo that wet viral on social media in which Museveni was showed fetching water on a bicycle and watering some nursery beds on his new farm in Luweero.
It is not the first time Rwomushana is attacking Museveni over a failed system.
During the general elections, police arrested Rwomushana over allegations of circulating a photograph of a dead man who resembled Mr Christopher Aine, who was the head of security for the former presidential candidate, Mr Amama Mbabazi.
The picture was to substantiate claims that Aine had been abducted and killed by state agents.
However, the police never followed with the case after detaining him for days.
