Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has said that President Yoweri Museven’s 30-year-old regime is “tired, out of ideas and lacks a concrete plan”.
He was Monday appearing on KFM radio evening programme ‘The Hot Seat’ hosted by Patrick Kamara.
Lukwago said the president has for a long time pursued personal issues with individuals at the expense of Ugandans.
He further claimed that President Museveni is only interested in how he can consolidate power something that has forced him not to respect other elected leaders.
“Museveni is only fixated with how to stay in power for ever, he rigs votes and blocks whoever wants to stand against him.”
Lukwago further noted: “Mr. Museveni should know that we were all elected into power. Therefore, he shouldn’t expect me to popularise ‘Kisanja Hakuna Muchezo’.”
Speaking about developing Kampala, Lukwago said government cannot develop the city unless they involve the locals.
“Government alone cannot develop this city, regardless of common criticism that leadership under Ssebana John Kizito and Ntege Ssebagla never developed Kampala. What has Museveni developed yet he even failed to develop State House where he stays.
