President Yoweri Museveni and minsters were on Tuesday treated to free drama as the ruling NRM national vice chairperson for central region, Hajj Abdul Nadduli took oath as minister without Portfolio following his appointment recently.
Nadduli took oath amid loud laughter after a number of other newly appointed cabinet ministers had taken theirs.
As if it was expected; no sooner had his name been announced as the next person to take oath than the entire room [filled with newly appointed ministers and president Museveni] went into murmurs.
Nadduli steadily walked to the podium in the company of three of his relatives who had escorted him to the momentous occasion.
Barely thirty seconds into the oath, everyone in the room including president Museveni burst into hearty endless laughter.
As if unbothered, the Honorable minster struggled with his broken English all through to the end of the oath with a firm ending of “…… So help me God” which was met with hand claps from his fellow ministers.
During his speech, president Musevenui was occasionally seen wiping away tears of joy as he laughed at the man he named the minister without portfolio in his new cabinet announced on June 6.
