Gen Yoweri Museveni has appointed Brig Mike Kisame as his military assistant.
After an attack on Uganda’s Mbuya Military barracks that left five soldiers dead in 2013, Museveni reshuffled the army appointing Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda, the former spokesperson of the Africa Mission in Somali (AMISOM) as Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) spokesperson.
Ankunda replaced Col Felix Kulayigye who was appointed the Chief Political Commissar (CPC) of UPDF.
In the same reshuffle, then Col. Mike Kisame, was posted to Uganda’s mission in Khartoum as the defence attaché.
Now Brigadier, Kisame earlier worked with Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence [CMI].
The latest indicates that the president has now appointed him his special military assistant.
