Josephine Kirabo Murumba, daughter of late Lawyer, Wilfred Mulumba, has decided to replace her father and run in his stead as Kabale Municipality Member of Parliament.
Kirabo famed for being eloquent, hardworking and down to earth, will be battling the incumbent Mr. Baryayanga Andrew Aja (Kabale Municipality – Kabale District).
A group supporting her bid made an announcement on Voice of Kigezi showing support for Kirabo.
Kabale Municipality is going to be a show down between FDC and NRM come 2106 general elections.
Kirabo’s father who was buried yesterday in Bwegerere Village, Nyaruhanga Parish, Ikumba Sub-county, Kabale District wanted to run for the same seat.
The late Murumba who stood for constituency Assembly Rubanda West in 1994 and then MP Rubanda West in 2006, had already printed posters ready to stand for MP Kabale Municipality in 2016.
Kirabo who replaces him now is his first born child.
Other kids include; Joseph Mubangizi, 20, Paul Taremwa, 16 and Jenevive Kabahimba, 10.
Kirabo, 23 is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Law at Makerere University in Kampala.
In 2011, a simple graduate and journalist, Ronah Ninsiima, defeated the then Minister for Agriculture, Hope Mwesigye, to become Kabale Woman Member of Parliament.
Ronah Rita Ninsiima, 33, and her election as Kabale district woman MP on February 18 set a trend that anything was possible.
