FDC president, Mugisha Muntu, and party Secretary General, Nandala Mafabi, spent part of Wednesday and Thursday gathering the ruling party, NRM cards in Pallisa and Butaleja districts.

Yesterday, NRM voters in Butebo sub-county, Paliisa district were touched by presidential candidate, Kizza Besigye’s defiance message that they started handing over their party cards and crossing to the opposition, FDC party.

A similar situation was experienced today in Butaleja district while NRM members handed over their party cards in large numbers and defected to opposition.

The cards were gathered by Muntu and Mafabi who are part of Besigye’s 2016 campaign team.

Besigye’s team also met voters at Kameke Sub county headquarters, Agure County in Pallisa.

His campaign team combed the villages of Pallisa getting more converts and preaching the message of defiance.

Besigye says Museveni government is the most corrupt

While addressing the people of Pallisa, Besigye said harnessing and developing Uganda’s potential can only be triggered and accelerated by selfless leadership and small, smart and efficient Government.

“A leadership that believes that Government does not own citizens but citizens own Government.”

He added: “We have never since independence had a government as corrupt as the current one.”

Speaking in Kibuku, Besigye said Rwanda which is no richer than Uganda has hospitals functioning better than those in Uganda.

He promised to empower institutions to fight corruption and ensure they work professionally not for the executive.

Speaking earlier in Busoga region, Besigye snapped at Museveni for appointing Kirunda Kivejinja as third deputy prime minister.

He said while Bugweri people were excited for getting a minister, they were still drinking dirty water.

Besigye said Museveni appoints ministers from different regions to dupe Ugandans into voting him back into power.

“Do you eat ministers?” he queried.

Besigye said he was going to change that including those who amass wealth at the expense of Ugandans.

“Leaders will not just deposit secretly details of their wealth with the IGG but their wealth will be publicized.”

“We are now ready for change.”

He promised to restore “people power” to the citizens after winning in 2016.
