General Mugisha Muntu, the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC President has announced his intention to contest for the party presidential ticket.
Muntu the announcement the FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi before the old and newly commissioned FDC National Executive Committee members.
While addressing journalists, Muntu said the public had earlier on criticized him for failing the party but the recent grassroots elections confirm that he has the party at heart adding that FDC is leading the nation by example as seen in the peaceful, democratic, transparent and fair elections held last Friday.
According to Muntu, after proving to the country that the party has strong grassroots structures and formulating the party policy agenda that was launched at Serena Hotel early this year, he is ready to lead the party to the top position of the country.
Muntu said he is open to competition from any party members interested in the party ticket.
On Amama Mbabazi’s declaration, Muntu said it was a clear sign that the ruling National Resistance Movement is collapsing.

He is optimistic that Mbabazi’s announcement is going to spark intense panic within the ruling party that will destabilize its support base.
