Police in Kampala are holding an intern doctor attached to Mulago National Referral Hospital for knocking dead a toddler and injuring another.
Dr Ivan Latim was arrested on Monday after he reportedly knocked dead Grace Lukwata, a three year old at Kilokole Zone, in Kawempe in Kampala.
Police said Dr Latim was driving under the influence of alcohol since he confessed that he was coming from a drink up by the time of the accident.
He rammed into the house in which he deceased and her father was sleeping. The father escaped with serious injuries.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson Paul Kangave, the alcohol content in the doctor’s body was 127.8 per cent.
