Information and Communication Technology minister Frank Tumwebaze, Democratic Party President Norbert Mao and Special Forces Commander Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, have all been touched by the passing of a gallant UPDF soldier.

“It’s disturbing news of the passing on of #GenOketa.Condolences 2 the family, the UPDF fraternity and the CIC @KagutaMuseveni. RIP afande!” said Tumwebaze in a tweet.

He added: “A great Soldiering professional, would joke all the time with his famous phrase “I salute & submit 2 civilian authority”. RIP”

Special Forces Commander and first son, Muhoozi was also equally saddened.

“Very sad to hear about the sudden passing of our elder and comrade Maj. General Julius Oketta. May his soul rest in peace,” Muhoozi tweeted.

“With great sorrow I announce the death of Maj. Gen. Julius Oketta. RIP Patriot, Officer and Gentleman,” Mao said in a social media statement.
