Jomo Mugabe on Thursday whipped his opponent and Rwampara Member of Parliament, Hon Vincent Kyamadidi, to take Mbarara district NRM party chairman seat.

The shockingly non-violent election was held at Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara town.

Mugabe picked 258 votes while Kyamadidi treated respectfully behind with 67 votes.

Mugabe is the Nyakayojo sub county chairperson in Rwampara county.

Kyamadidi who was not satisfied with the results alleged a massive ballot stuffing but had no evidence to prove his claims.

Meanwhile, Grace Muhairwe Kyankoko was elected secretary for finance, Herbert Kamugisha as vice chairperson, Steven Muganga as publicity secretary and Felly Tumwesigye Bebuze as general secretary.
