Elections for leaders in the five newly created districts have been marred by low turnout, vote rigging and voter bribery with contestants buying their voters with as low as Shs500 to 2,000 per vote.
At Kacerere IV Polling Station in Rubanda District, Voters are outside waiting for a candidate(s) who will pay them money for their vote.
Many of those we have talked to are unwilling to go and vote before they are paid.
A vote is going for between Shs 500 and 2,000.
Voting in five newly created districts, including Rubanda, Kibaale, Kagadi, Kakumiro and Omoro is underway to elect MPs and local council leaders.
