Member of Parliament for Bunyangabu county, Kabarole district and also Minister for Local Government Mr Adolf Mwesige failed to take full responsibilities for the NRM liberation day celebrations in his constituency, sparking rumors that his illness could have gotten the better of him.
The ruling NRM party celebrated 30 years since taking over power in 1986 yesterday at St Leo’s Kyegobe which happens to be in Mr Mwesige’s constituency. As is the tradition of the party, the honorable Members of Parliament in whose constituency the event takes place always take key part in preparations.
However, there are unconfirmed reports that Mr Mwesige was a no show at the initial preparations and even after he showed up, he was quickly whisked away when close relatives noticed that he was deteriorating each minute he spent at the venue.
Minister Mwesigye is said to be suffering from stroke ensuing from election pressure. Sources claim relatives and friends are even contemplating on having him withdraw from the elections.
