President Yoweri Museveni today held a meeting with former Tanzanian President Benjamin Mkapa.
Mr. Mkapa delivered a written report to the President and briefed him on the current political crisis in Burundi.
The two leaders discussed a wide-range of issues that could provide possible solutions to end the political instability in Burundi.
They emphasised the need for all the parties involved in the political crisis in Burundi to negotiate and respect the Arusha Peace Accord.
President Museveni is the Chief Mediator of the Burundi peace talks.
He was appointed as such by the East AfricanCommunity (EAC) Heads of State in July 2015.
Mr. Mkapa is the principal mediator in the talks between the Government of Burundi other Burundi stakeholders that are aimed at ending the Burundi political crisis.
