Akello Prossy, was over the weekend crowned Miss Uganda north beauty queen in the ongoing regional tour.
Akello beat rivals Angella Anyango Tally (1st runners-up) and 2nd runner up Okiing Patience at an event held in Gulu town.
After crowning Miss Uganda 2015 North, the search headed West to Mbarara where Christine Tayebwa, the reigning Miss Uganda west, will be handing over the crown tomorrow June 4, 2015.
“…my crown awaits a new Queen, who will it be?” Tayebwa said.
The search will then proceed to Central starting with Masaka on 6th June.
“Entry forms are available at the Miss Uganda office Plot 3, 2nd Street Industrial area and with our scouts across the country,” Miss Uganda said in a social media message.
“We invite all young ladies between 18 and 24 years of age to audition and be part of the search for Uganda’s next beauty Queen.”
The four regional tours and the pre-selection night at McKinnon suites are meant to identify and produce 21 (or 22) girls with agricultural skills who will participate in a three weeks boot-camp from 20th June to 10th July.
The final is set for 10th July at Serena Hotel in Kampala.
