Presidential advisor on media, Tamale Mirundi, says his boss will not hand over power to FDC candidate, Kizza Besigye.
Mirundi made the remarks on Tuesday in NBS TV Extra with Tamale Mirundi programme.
“Museveni cannot hand over to a hostile Besigye,” Mirundi asserted.
He said if he [Museveni] really does hand over power, he will be booking a seat on the Luzira bus.
“If he does, he will be booking a seat on the Luzira bus. He can’t do that.”
Mirundi said no one among the eight candidates had the capacity to defeat President Museveni in elections.
“If you want to defeat President Museveni, you have to bring someone who is a better Museveni and not a Westerner,” he pointed out.
The biggest percentage of the contenders in the 2016 race are westerners; Museveni, Besigye, Amama Mbabazi, Prof Venansius Baryamureeba and Maj Gen Benon Biraaro.
Mirundi said for example, he doesn’t attend Besigye or Mbabazi rallies.
“How can a Muslim rotate around a pork joint?”
Mirundi maintained that even the presidential debate “is a Mbabazi project”.
Museveni finally attended the last presidential debate on foreign policy held at Serena hotel Kampala.
The president defended his long stay saying he still wants to unite the East African region and protect blacks from imperialistic Europeans.
