Ruling NRM party candidate and Energy Minister, Irene Muloni, has been also been trounced and sent packing.
She was defeated by Sarah Wekomba, an independent candidate.
Wekomba picked 20,805 votes against Muloni’s 20240 votes to grab the Bulambuli district Woman MP seat.
Her defeat follows the humiliation of seven other ministers including Jim Muhwezi [Information], Sam Engola [Housing], Henry Kajura [first deputy Prime Minister], Crispus Kiyonga [Defence], Henry Banyenzaki [Economic planning], Kahinda Otafiire [Justice and Constitutional Affairs] and Education minister Jessica Alupo.
Another casualty of the election is Internal Affairs minister, Rose Akol, the incumbent woman MP for Bukedea.
Dokolo District Woman MP Cecilia Atim Ogwal has retained her seat.
UPC MP Jimmy Akena Obote is leading NRM’s Pollar Awich in the Lira municipality race.
The Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Phillip Wafula Oguttu is trailing the NRM flag bearer Solomon Silwanyi in Bukooli Central constituency.
Trade minister Amelia Kyambadde has retained her seat in Mawokota North.
