Minister’s bodyguards cited in armed ambush

Former Kabale deputy RDC, Moses Nuwagaba

A top minister’s bodyguards have been accused of staging an ambush and “taking” a vehicle belonging to former Kabale deputy Resident District Commissioner, Moses Nuwagaba.

According to the report, soldiers driving a vehicle with a cabinet minister insignia waylaid Nuwagaba along Mbarara highway.

Nuwagaba aka “entwiga” had just left Voice of Kigezi radio and was travelling to Mbarara when a black Prado chased him until it cornered him.

He was put on gun point and his pick truck taken.

Nuwagaba was later rescued by Ntungamo acting RDC who drove him to Ntungamo police station.

The case is also registered at Ntungamo police station.

Police has put up an alert to all stations in Uganda to find the lost vehicle.

The incident came after drama rocked VOK studios where Kabale District RDC, Darius Nandinda, was forced to defend State Minister for Economic Monitoring, Henry Banyenzaki, who Nuwagaba accused of empty promises made to the people of Kabale.

Kigezi region police spokesperson, Elly Maate, told Insider he was not aware of the incident because he has been busy preparing for the pass out of crime preventers.

We also contacted RDC Nandida who never picked our repetitive phone calls.
