State minister for Water, Ronald Kibuule, has been dragged to Mukono Police Station for reportedly beating a security guard.
The minister allegedly assaulted Hellen Obuku, a security guard who was manning the entrance of Stanbic Bank Mukono branch on Thursday for trying to check him.
“You know who I am. I can’t allow you to check me,” the minister is quoted retorting when Obuku tried to prevent him from entering the bank.
Obuku tried to explain that she was doing her job but Kibuule wouldn’t allow her near him or go through the metal detector machine at the entrance.
The female guard then asked for an identification to confirm that Kibuule was indeed a minister who shouldn’t be checked but he instead punched her.
He then forced his way into the bank but remembered to call police officers to arrest the guard for allegedly insulting him.
Obuku was asked to apologize which she refused before being bundled onto a police van and driven away.
Its not clear what the cops did to her but the guard collapsed before they could reach the police station.
She was then channeled to Mukono Health Center and put on drip.
It took the intervention of her employer Bob Ssande who secured for her a police bond and her final release.
Obuku has now opened an assault case against the minister.
