Military and regular police on Monday besieged the offices of opposition Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] political party and arrested over 50 supporters of Kizza Besigye.

“They have blocked people from accessing the FDC offices,” he said.

Kakuhikire Allan Atuheire, the LC5 Councillor for Makindye, was among those arrested while preaching against President Yoweri Museveni.

He was detained at Entebbe Police Station.

Another batch of officers was placed at Besigye’s home in Kasangati in Wakiso district.

Besigye who was whisked away from the airport in Entebbe straight to his home later addressed press where he condemned the arrest of his supporters.

“I have been told that over 50 people have been arrested. We demand that these people be released immediately,” Besigye told press.
