Military police has deployed at the head offices of Uganda opposition party, Forum for Democratic Change [FDC] in Najjanankumbi along Entebbe road.
Military police was earlier seen outside the FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi and later at Entebbe international airport where they blocked press from receiving Kizza Besigye.
The opposition leader arrived minutes after 8:00am as planned.
He was corned by military police and immediately whisked off.
“Besigye has been whisked away by military at the airport,” the party said in a tweet.
The officials said they do not know of his whereabouts.
Low ranked military officers ordered journalist to leave the place as well.
Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, who had gone to receive him confirmed that Besigye has been arrested.
“What they are doing is a violation. Flagrant abuse of the law. Fellow passengers say Dr Besigye was whisked away,” Lukwago told press.
He was later dropped at his home in Kansangati Wakiso district.
The People’s President is now at home in Kasangati.

Yesterday, police said FDC had not officially communicated the rescheduled return of the former presidential candidate and therefore holding processions and moving in convoys is illegal.
Andrew Kaweesi, the Police Spokesman, said police would arrest and slap treason charges whoever would be found distributing or holding posters describing Dr Besigye as people’s president.
He said they have learnt that the posters are being distributed by Ingrid Turinawe and Makerere councillor Doreen Nyanjura.
He also accused the duo of illegal mobilisation of people to terrorise traffic flow on Entebbe highway.
