Bukomansimbi Woman MP, Susan Namaganda, is reported dead.
“The Speaker Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga announces with deep sorrow the death of Bukomansimbi Woman MP, Hon. Susan Namaganda,” Parliament tweeted on its official handle.
Namaganda has been serving on the Committees of Science and Technology and Agriculture in Parliament.
She was last evening involved in a car accident along Masaka road.
Her husband and East Africa Legislative Assembly [EALA] legislator, Mukasa Mbidde, said the car in which Namaganda and two others were travelling was knocked by another car in Mpigi.
Namaganda was admitted at Nakasero hospital in Kampala while she succumbed to injuries this morning.
Kadaga in a statement extended her condolences to the family, relatives, constituents and the country “on this great loss.
She said burial arrangements for the legislator will be announced.
Namaganda graduated in 2006 with a degree in Cisco Certified Network Associate before being awarded with a Diploma Cisco certified Network professional in 2008 at Makerere University.
She sat her UCE at Christ the King Bulinda in 2002 before joining St. Andrew Kagwa and Daniel for her A-level.
Born on April 10, 1984, Susan Namaganda bcame Bukomansimbi’s 1st Woman MP in 2011 following the district’s creation in July 2010.
In December 2012, Namaganda married EALA MP Mbidde in traditional Kiganda marriage.
She is now survived by 3 children with youngest said to be 7 months old.
