The Mbarara Grade one Magistrate court Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a case where the Mbarara Deputy RDC, Moses Mwebesa, is accused of assaulting a businessman.
Mwebesa was dragged before the Court by Edrisa Katende on the 13th of March 2015 after he was arrested for having stolen construction materials of a Chinese Company which is constructing the Mbarara Bypass.
Katende was arrested and taken to police by the D/RDC after the Chinese company workers reported to him that their stones were being stolen by unknown people which prompted the D/ RDC to arrest him after finding heaps of stones in his plot in Kakiika Mbarara.
He was later released from police cells after proving that the hips of stones that were found in his plot were his and with evidence.
Shortly after the court session, Mwebesa told journalists that he will not be intimidated by anything while performing his duties as the deputy RDC.
The complainant Katende said that adjourning the case is not a big problem only if it is done in a fair way even if it takes long time.
The court which was presided over by Magistrate, Daniel Bwambale, adjourned the hearing to the 23rd of September 2015.
