Police has preferred charges of ‘Public Nuisance’ against three members of the Go Forward team in Kotido town for allegedly conducting themselves in a manner that is unacceptable.
Ali Kasibante, Zemuba and Wanyama were arrested on Tuesday while practicing the Bamasaba cultural dance (Kadodi) at Dodoth College in Kotido in preparation of Amama Mbabazi’s visit to the district.
They are currently held at Kotido Central Police Station on charges of ‘Public Nuisance’.
Ayatola Kapchemut, the Kotido District Police Commander told Uganda Radio Network the suspects were arrested for conducting themselves in a manner which is unacceptable in public.
He says the suspects will be arraigned in court any time soon.
In a related development, supporters of Mbabazi clashed with those of NRM candidate Yoweri Museveni at Kotido Roundabout Wednesday morning.
Youths dressed in Museveni campaign T-shirts led by Bildard Adome, the NRM candidate for Jie county parliamentary seat started pinning Museveni’s posters on top of those of Mbabazi leading to clashes.
Police quickly intervened to avert any further violence.
