Lawyers to the first respondent president Yoweri Museveni have urged court to dismiss case that seeks to annul victory of their client in the recently concluded elections…
Submitting to court this morning, lead counsel for NRM Mr. Kiryowa Kiwanuka punched holes in the case by Mbabazi lawyers saying the later did not table any single piece of evidence
“My Lord, the petitioner did not table any piece of evidence to this court and I beg you take note of that,” he said.
Referring to the affidavit presented by the Mbabazi legal team on delay of polling materials, Mr. Kiwanuka mar added, “There is no evidence on record that the delay in polling material was to the benefit of the first respondent (president Museveni).
On his part Mr. Matsiko, also representing Mr. Museveni argued that the affidavit by an ICT technician presented by Amama team lacks credibility, as it has no CV attachment
“My lords the witness presented to this court as an IT technician is not credible, he says he trained as an IT technician but attached no CV .how would we know what he claims is a fact?”
He also fronted an affidavit by the second respondent (EC) MR Badru Kiggundu in which he claims that even if all registered voters in areas of Wakiso and Kampala has voted for the runner up (Kizza Besigye) without invalid votes, still the first respondent (Museveni) would win with 54%.
