One of the cars in Independent Presidential Candidate Amama Mbabazi’s convoy has been involved in an accident, leaving 7 of its occupants injured.
The Supper Custom, registration number UAV 418 T failed the driver at Kakyende, after Ibanda town, veering off the road into a trench. Witnesses say the car was moving at breakneck speed.
The injured were rushed to Mbarara hospital with two of them in critical condition.
This is second time in less than a month that Mr Mbabazi’s convoy is getting involved in an accident.
Earlier in January 2016, three members of independent presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi’s security team were admitted after sustaining serious injuries in a car crash.
Ten of Mr Mbabazi’s security team members were travelling from Moroto district to Kaabong district, where he was expected to hold his rallies when the vehicle, again a super custom, they were travelling in veered off the road and overturned. The driver was reportedly over speeding.
