Court in Apac district has charged a 24 –year-old man for pelting stones and pig intestines at President Yoweri Museveni during his tour in Northern Uganda.
Odur Aaron alias Epet, a resident of Aor-nga village, Apac district threw the contents at President Museveni during a rally at Apac Boma Grounds on Tuesday July, 21st 2015.
The president had just given a speech, outlining the achievements of his government, when Odur threw the content at him, only to be grabbed by one of his aide.
He was arrested immediately and whisked to Apac Central Police Station.
“Upon seizing the materials, Police found that the intestine, a stone and a chapatti were tied together and used to ridicule the president,” State Prosecutor Emmanuel Tian, told court yesterday afternoon.
Odur was not allowed to take plea during today’s court appearance.
Grade One magistrate Jude Okumu, said the case is of capital nature and the court does not have jurisdiction to handle the matter.
