A 30-year old man has been saved by police from a mob that wanted to kill for allegedly hacking his pregnant wife to death.
Jonathan Kagula, a resident of Kavule village, Nakisunga sub-county in Mukono was saved by police and is being held at Mukono Police Station as investigations continue into the murder of his expectant wife Florence Nakafo.
According to Fred Ahimbisibwe, the Mukono District Police Commander Kagula was handed over to police by residents after he reportedly told them he had killed his wife deep in the night over infidelity.
Neighbours said Kagula had long been accusing Nakafo of cheating on him with another neighbor only identified as Tom.
On the fateful day, a fight broke out between the two after Kagula found out that Nakafo had got tomatoes from Tom even after she had warned her several times against it.
Later that night, Kavule village chairman, Godfrey Mukasa said he was called by locals at 2.00am and told of Nakafo’s murder.
When Mukasa got to the scene of crime in Kagula’s house, he found the body lying in a pool of blood and called police.
