Makerere withdraws suspension of 15 students

Makerere University Vice Chancellor Ddumba Ssentamu has revoked the suspension of the 15 University students accused of destroying school property.

In a closed meeting with the student leaders, Ddumba distanced himself from the allegations saying he was only handed the names of students by the dean and he followed the rules and regulations of the university.

This withdraw follow the solidarity strike staged by students and their leaders demanding the University to reconsider the ‘unfair’ decision.

In the meeting that was also attended by the Dean of students and the Academic Registrar, Ddumba added that students are now free to access university services.
