As its always said that President Museveni is Uganda’s only ‘man with a vision’, Makerere university tear gas inventor Mugarura Samuel aka Falcao has also started seeking for wisdom through mimicking the head of state.
Putting it in the Biblical context, Psalm 119:133 says ‘Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.’
Don’t think you Mugarura is trying to fulfil the Holy Scripture of hoping to be Uganda’s next Museveni?
Mugarura came into public limelight last month when he blasted what he called a homemade teargas canister made from local materials.
He says President Museveni has since summoned him for face-to-face talks.
“They said the President would like to meet me to offer me support for my project. They promised to take me to State House to meet him individually,’’ Mugarura told Daily Monitor.
Mugarura has since adopted Museveni’s walking style, dress code [colours, hat].
In August, a photo of Museveni walking alone on a tarmac road in Kagadi district circulated widely on social media, especially WhatsApp and Facebook.
Some social media enthusiasts were so inquisitive wondering whether Museveni’s walk symbolised “vision 2040” which the president has been saying in the recent past that it will lead Uganda to middle income status.
“I can see vision 2040…”, tweeted a one Maurice Mugisha.
Mugarura too took a similar photo walking into the “great unknown future” just days after Museveni agreed to meet him.
Hope even this photo challenge will be put on the agenda of the anticipated meeting.
