Police has arrested three students of Makerere University while protesting at the Constitutional Square in Kampala.

Simon Wanyera, the GRC School of Education, Emmanuel Asiimwe, the chairman Nkrumah hall and a one Robinson Wabulembo were demonstrating against the continued arrest of opposition leader Kizza Besigye.

Dressed in university gowns, the students took to the city centre demanding for change and the release of Besigye who they described as the “elected president of Uganda”.

Besigye is currently imprisoned at Luzira on treason charges.

Police swung into action, arrested the students and detained them at Central Police Station in Kampala.
