Makerere Guild president Roy Ssembogo arrested


Makerere university students arrested over planned match to parliament to petition the speaker over the closure of the university.

Guild President Roy Ssembogo & guild clerk Owen Natukunda and Rashid Wasityo a student of Education  are being Held at Central police station.

The students arrested from Makerere University main gate and taken CPS in an operation led by Nsabimana the DPC Wandegeya police station.

The students had planned a procession to parliament to hand in their petition to the speaker of parliament over the closure of the university.

Makerere University was closed on November 1 following the presidential directive after the disagreements between lecturers and management over their 8months incentive arrears that had attracted the students strike.
