Army retired Major, Guma Gumisiriza, is currently in a coma.
The former Ibanda North Member of Parliament is admitted at Nakasero hospital in Kampala.
Earlier reports had it that he had been poisoned, a new trend of rumour that surrounds every sick politician in the country.
Close family sources however told us the retired soldier has high blood pressure.
He collapsed before being rushed to hospital.
Guma was defeated by the current MP, Kyoma Xavier, in the 2011 elections.
He was accused of killing Kyoma’s supporters upon which he was arrested and thrown behind bars at Kyamugorani prison in Mbarara over murder charges.
Gumisiriza and eight others were charged with the killing of Moses Ainebyona, a campaign manager of his political nemesis, Kyoma.
In 2012, Gumisiriza and his co-accused were granted bail by High court judge Andrew Bashaija after spending six months in prison.
Disgruntled and bitter that a historical could be arrested, he turned against the regime.
