President John Magufuli has revoked the appointment of Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) Executive Director, Juliet Kairuki, and appointed Clifford Tandari as Acting Executive Director.
Tanzania Daily News quotes a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (Trade and Investment), Professor Adolf Mkenda.
The statement issued in Dar es Salaam says the president revoked the appointment of Kairuki on April 24 this year.
It said the decision was taken by President Magufuli after being informed that Kairuki had not taken her salary since April 2013 when she was appointed to date.
“If Ms Kairuki will be willing to work with the government, she will be assigned to other duties,” the statement reads.
Kairuki is a former Manager for Public Private Partnership Capacity Building project in SADC, the Banking Association South Africa.
She also worked as a General Manager for Banking Department and Financial Services in the same bank.
Her replacement, Tandari has worked in the Ministry of Finance and Planning and the Planning Commission.
