One police officer has been stabbed to death and another critically injured in an attack at Kasana Police post in Luweero town council at night.
According to Uganda Radio Network, the assailants, armed with machetes, raided the post at 2:30 am.
They apparently demanded for guns from the officers on duty.
One of the police officers reportedly refused to hand over the keys to the armoury sparking off a fight.
In the chaos, one officer was stabbed to death while a second one sustained serious injuries.
Savannah Region Police Spokesperson, Lamech Kigozi, confirmed the incident.
He said the assailants managed to escape but police is looking for them.
The killing of a cop in Luweero comes amidst the sad news following the killing of a State Attorney, Joan Kagezi.
Kagezi was killed in Kiwatule, a Kampala suburb by unknown gunmen (now suspected to be ADF rebels) on Monday.
On the same day, a mobile money agent was shot in Bunamwaya on Monday.
