South Sudan rebel chief, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, has opened the second SPLM leadership conference held in Adar state at the South Sudan-Ethiopia border.
Sources say the conference now ongoing on under tight was opened by Machar in the presence of military governors, military commanders, specialised committee chairpersons, and Ambassadors (diaspora representatives).
Together with his generals, Machar is discussing among others: the IGAD-PLUS, the inclusion of more nations and its mechanism, Leaked AU reports, and atrocities committed, Status of Arusha Agreement, Dialogue with other parties and SPLM-FDs, Organizational documents approval and Reports from the Military Governors.
Present at the conference are; Gen. Gathoth Gatkuoth Hothganyang, Gen. Martin Kenyi, Gen Peter Gatdet, Gen James Koang, Gen Gathoth Gatkuoth, Gen Dau Aturjong, among others.
The consultative conference on proposed peace deal comes before the peace talks resume in Ethiopia.
Initially, its was scheduled for 10 April, but was adjourned due to logistical arrangement.
Also in attendance are dignitaries and delegates of SPLM in diaspora.
