Lydia Wanyoto loses again in workers MPs poll

State Minister for Sports Charles Bakkabulindi has bounced back as Member of Parliament representing Workers.

Bakkabulindi retained his seat during Friday’s election of the five workers’ representatives in the 10th parliament held at Namboole stadium.

Arinaitwe Rwakajara also retained his seat as Workers’ Representative – Workers District.

Sam Lyomoki also bounced back as Workers’ Representative – Workers District.

Agnes Kunihira was elected female workers MP while Margaret Rwabushaija (UNATU chair) was also elected Workers MP.

Over 440 delegates from the various workers unions cast their votes.

The polls supervised by the Electoral Commission attracted about 15 people including NRM’s unlucky woman, Lydia Wanyoto Mutende.

She lost the Mbale woman MP flag to Connie Nakayenze during last October NRM primaries.

This came at the same time she had lost her husband Hon Dr James Mutende.

Teopista Nabulya Ssentongo, Paul Wepukhulu, Mary Marion Tuunde, Robert Wanzusi Matukhu, Bruno Pajobo, Moses Mauku, Mathias Mulumba Ssuuna, Mark Nowamani and Dr Abdulhu Byakatonda, all went back home empty handed.
