The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party secretariat is bent on having the Secretary General, Justine Kasule Lumumba, impeached.
In a petition dated March 1, 2016 addressed to the president, the staff seek to meet Museveni on the conduct of the secretary general.
The staff cite 12 grievances they have against Lumumba including among others; the inaccessibility of the SG who rarely sits at the secretariat, demoralization of staff and complete lack of motivation, Lumumba lacking team work since she works alone hence causing inefficiency, redundancy and idleness.
Addressing press at the party head offices in Kyadondo yesterday, Lumumba called on the 48 members of staff who signed the petition that could see her impeached, to use “proper channels”.
“I have never received any petition from them [staff] or any report about their grievances. I only saw it on social media,” she said.
“I have instructed the finance director [Hassan Ggaliwango Waswa] to meet them.”
She advised those who have personal issues against her to instead go to her direct rather than writing petitions.
The staff also cite discrimination of staff headed by NRM electoral commission chairman, Tanga Odoi, majority of whom have never been paid salaries.
The staff say now the secretariat is dormant and inactive curtsey of poor communication and flow of information.
She is further accused of victimizing and side-lining some staff she deems as her personal enemies.
According to Lumumba, they should have reported to the Finance director first, then to her deputy Richard Todwong and then herself before petition the chairman.
The petition is copied both to the deputy national vice chairman, Moses Kigongo, deputy SG and NRM electoral commission chair, Tanga Odoi.
“Whoever is complaining should provide evidence that she/he was contracted by us for a service. Those we contracted and have not yet paid, will be paid,” she said.
