Lt Gen Andrew Gutti has been appointed as the new chairman of the General Court Martial.
Army spokesperson Lt Col Paddy Ankunda confirmed the new appointment.
Gutti replaces the late Maj Gen Levi Karuhanga, the former chairman for General Court Martial.
Karuhanga died last month aged 60 at Nakasero Hospital.
By the time of his death, Karuhanga was trying Gen. David Sejusa at the Makindye-based army court.
Karuhanga’s replacement, Lieutenant General Gutti is a former African Union Mission in Somalia [AMISOM] commander.
Between May 2012 and December 2013, he was the commander of the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM) based in Mogadishu, Somalia.
Before his deployment to Somalia, he was the commandant of the Uganda Senior Command and Staff College at Kimaka in the Eastern Region of Uganda.
