A UPDF soldier attached to Special Forces Command [SFC] has been struck dead by lightning at State House.

Presidential press secretary, Lindah Nabusayi, confirmed the unfortunate incident.

Nabusayi said the incident occurred Tuesday morning at one of the outposts at State House Entebbe.

“It is true. One of the soldiers was killed instantly while two others were injured,” Nabusayi said.

She said the injured soldiers were rushed to Entebbe hospital for treatment.

Nabusayi did not disclose the names of the dead and injured soldiers respectively.

She instead referred us to Maj. Chris Magezi, the Special Forces spokesperson.

Without revealing the identity of the officers,  Magezi confirmed one officers died on the spot.

“We have to inform his family first,” he said.

The deceased was reportedly struck as he was talking on phone while standing during the Tuesday morning downpour.
