Police has arrested at least 10 youth who were attempting to hold a press conference at Centenary Park.
The youth who said they are affiliated to the Democratic Alliance wanted to address the press on the arrests of former FDC President Dr Kizza Besigye and former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi.
Among the youth arrested are Andrew Karamagi, who reportedly called the meeting; Kennedy Oluma, a youth leader from Uganda Federal Alliance, and Kalema Shaban, a JEEMA party member.
Others are; Brian Atuheire Batenda, Kakayi Zeridah, Wabulembo Robin, Paga Gloria and others still unidentified.
The youth have been taken to Jinja Road Police Station.
Mbabazi and Besigye were arrested yesterday enroute Mbale where they planned to launch nationwide consultative meetings.
Mbabazi has just announced this afternoon that he was suspending the consultative meetings till further notice.
The suspension, according to Amama’s media aide, Josephine Nkanji, follows the death of his brother who passed on yesterday.
