The money was raised on Saturday in a car wash event held at Panamera bar in Naguru.
Kyamutetera says Ugandans are willing to stand behind a credible cause but government needs to invest more.
“Everywhere in the world, treating diseases like cancer is expensive which is why government ought to invest more,” he said while appearing on NBS TV on Monday.
He said government is not paying enough attention to health services.
“It is planning to reduce the health budget.”
Carol who has throat and lung cancers needs atleast Shs270m to go for treatment in US.
Kyamutetera said the bigger message from Save Carol campaign is that while Ugandans can contribute to save her, government should do its job.
“We ought to push for the basic cancer treatment facilities at regional hospitals and Mulago Hospital”.
The radiotherapy machine at Mulago hospital broke down weeks ago.
There were reports that even the oxygen machine had broken down but the hospital administration denied.
