Foreign Affairs minister, Sam Kuteesa, has Friday picked nomination forms to contest for the Mawogola North seat as NRM flag bearer.

Speaking at Kyadondo NRM headquarters, Kutesa dismisses accusations that he was a prime instigator of violence in past primaries.

He is quoted by URN distancing himself from the violent past passing all accusations as “untrue”.

In 2010, the then NRM Electoral Commissioner, Lydia Wanyoto, received over 500 petitions of vote rigging and violence during NRM primaries.

While the general mess was blamed on then NRM Secretary General, Amama Mbabazi, Kutesa too had his own share.

In Sembabule district, the elections were scuttled in a barrage of bullets that left two injured, according to The Independent magazine.

Kutesa (Mawogola county) was among those dragged to the party disciplinary committee over the messy elections.

The UN Assembly president is now back to retain his seat in parliament.
