Kamuswaga being brutalised by SFC soldiers

The Kamuswaga of Kooki Chiefdom, Apollo Sansa Kabumbuli, has been rushed to Germany for treatment after a brutal arrest by elements of the UPDF Special Forces Command [SFC].

The story circulated over the weekend, in which the Kamuswaga was brutally manhandled for allegedly overtaking the Vice President, Edward Ssekandi’s convoy.

The Kamuswaga was arrested at Kinyanya on Masaka-Bukunda section on Masaka–Kyotera road.

In a February 4 notice through his lawyers of Muwema and Company Advocates, the chief demanded that the force apologises to him as well as the entire Kooki community for the incident.

Later, Asan Kasingye, the Police Force’s chairperson interagency communication task team, said in a statement that police apologised to the dishonoured monarch.

Kamuswaga on Saturday left for medical treatment in Germany.

At the moment, Kingdom officials have declared a mourning period to express their dissatisfaction.

Kooki Kingdom is now in a 10-day period of mourning to express its annoyance until the Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura, punishes the officers who allegedly tortured him.
