Kitatta beats Katongole in Rubaga NRM poll

Abdul Kitatta has defeated Singh Katongole to take the office of Rubaga division NRM Chairperson.

Kitatta is the chairman of the boda boda riders in Kampala.

Kitatta got 70 votes while Katongole picked only 21 votes.

The new NRM party chairman for Rubaga will be deputised by Lillian Bucyana.

The troubled former NRM national treasurer and Rubaga North MP aspirant, Katongole, was this month dragged to court for allegedly presenting forged academic papers.

Tom Nsamba, an NRM member hailing from Rubaga North constituency recorded a case at Mengo Magistrates court, suing the ruling party as well for nominating Katongole basing on fake documents.

According to Nsamba, Katongole presented a forged ‘A’ level transcript to the NRM Electoral Commission chairman, Tanga Odoi, which means “he doesn’t qualify to contest in the forthcoming NRM Primaries”.
