The self-proclaimed King of Kigezi region, King Caesar Mulenga, has given Shs100m to teachers in Kanungu district under their association (Kanungu Sacco).

The King said the money would be used avail them with seedlings for a better tomorrow.

While launching their SACCO at the close of last week, King Mulenga asked residents and teachers to elect President Yoweri Museveni in 2016 saying that president Museveni is the only leader who can promote development.

Mulenga who gave a brief history of Ugandan politics disclosed that leadership is from God and therefore should know that they are not to decide but that God has already chosen the leader.

He compared president Museveni to Moses in the Bible for having rescued Ugandans.

He urged residents to continue supporting the president as he prepares for a fifth term in office.

Recently, President Museveni met in Gulu town and named Mulenga the chairman of his campaign task force committee that is moving around Kigezi region canvassing votes for him.

Museveni has several times warned cultural leaders against interfering in politics telling them to stick to developmental issues.

Even the coronation of Mulenga as King of Bafumbira was first opposed by Wilson Muruli Mukasa (M.P), the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development in August this year.

The church leaders also joined in rejecting his enthronement but the determined tycoon went ahead and crowned himself.

According to Mulenga, Museveni is in his last days since he has aged but Ugandans should wait for him to hit the constitutional age limit [75 years].

“Ugandans should wait until he [Museveni] retires and be given his pension after service,” Mulenga reasoned.

Other members of Museveni’s 7D Task Force include; Benon Karyeija the Mitooma LC5 boss, Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba, Dr Francis Mwesigye Runumi, Fidelis Kanyamunyu, Abel Bizimana, Frank Byaruhanga and John Kamara.

Speaking on the Friday event, Byaruhanga [another member of the task force] promised teachers an extra Shs10m if they remain focused and rally behind the president.

He said their task force will not only campaign for President Museveni but also work on other issues like developing all people despite of their locality.

He asked residents to forgive each other despite the recent irregularities in NRM elections in Kanungu district.
