President Salva Kiir has sacked caretaker governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Kuel Aguer.
Kiir appointed Salva Chol Ayat the deputy governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal as the acting governor of the state.
This controversial sacking has come after a long rift between Aguer and the current SPLA Chief of General Staff, Paul Malong Awan.
Malong Awan used to be the governor of NBG but was replaced by Aguer in April 2014 to become the SPLA Chief of General Staff.
The President also sacked his Minister of Interior and Wildlife Conservation Mr. Aleu Ayieny Aleu in a decree read on SSTV on Monday evening.
A replacement is yet to be named.
