Eversince he won the BET award, critics claim, Eddy Kenzo has not allowed the prize a chance to “settle down” in one place.
He has allegedly been moving with it from place to place like one carries a mobile phone.
In the latest encounter, he is seen with American ambassador to Uganda, Scott H. DeLisi, showing him the award and taking a few photographs here and there.
“We had a visit today from Eddy Kenzo. It was so much fun to help celebrate his BET Award as Best New International Artist!” DeLisi wrote on social media, Facebook.
He added: “We had supported his nomination on the Embassy Facebook page and were delighted that this humble, talented young Ugandan was recognized.”
For a kid who grew up on the streets, DeLisi continues, Eddy has used his artistry to not only create a name for himself, but now he seeks to help empower and mentor young Ugandans facing their own challenges in life.
“We’re proud to support his efforts and look forward to working with Eddy for years to come. Congratulations to the Best New International Artist! Way to go, Eddy!”
Meanwhile, the humble and down-to-earth Kenzo, was among those who felt sympathy for Ugandan artistes, Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool who missed out at the South African MTV awards.
